How variants work
Your own variant options
Name the options that matter to your products — size, colour, material, length — and give each variant its combination.
A SKU per variant
Every variant carries its own SKU, so purchase orders, exports and stock counts never mix up small red with large blue.
Stock per variant
Stock is counted on the variant, not the parent product. 80 large and 0 medium reads exactly like that.
Price per variant
Set a price for each variant, and a cost too if you track what you paid. The extra-large can cost more without breaking your numbers.
Reorder level per variant
When the medium runs low, only the medium shows up in your low-stock list — not the whole product.
Retire one without losing it
Mark a variant inactive when you stop carrying it. Its history stays, your list stays clean.
Adjustments per variant
Correct a count on a single variant after a stocktake. Who did it and when is recorded.
In your exports
Variants come through in CSV exports, so your spreadsheets show the same detail the app does.

Create the product with its name, category and details. Variants sit underneath it.

Decide what varies — size and colour, say — then add each variant with its own SKU, price and opening stock.

Low stock and the daily at-risk email name the exact variant, so you reorder what you actually need.
